The difference between a release and a race. With a release it is just about visual impact & entertainment, you could use it to launch a new product or to open a new business, School or park area.
With a Balloon Race, tickets are sold for each balloon released, part of the ticket is attached to the balloon. The balloons are released into the air and are carried along on the wind currents, depending on the direction of the wind will depend on the route of the balloon, but many of the balloon released in Norfolk and Suffolk travel across to mainland Europe. Once the Balloon shatters the balloon remnants and the ticket fall to the ground, the person who finds this ticket sends it back to the address and if their balloon travelled the furthest by the closing date then both the send and the finder of the balloon receive a gift. This is great fun and can often bring children together from different parts of the county and the world, it is also a great source of fund raising.
